Smile Cookie season is officially underway in Thamesford! Preorders are now being accepted and cookie sales will begin on Monday with all of the proceeds going to Andrew's Legacy.
THAMESFORD - The Tim Hortons in Thamesford is teaming up with Andrew's Legacy once again for their Smile Cookie Campaign.
Andrew's Legacy Co-Founder Cara Schmidt says the campaign has been a big success in the past, so they're setting the bar high this year.
"To date in the last three years, we have raised $40,000. Last year was our biggest year with 15,755 Smile Cookies sold, so we have set the bar really high this year with 18,000 cookies."
Cookie sales will begin next week, but preorders are now being accepted if you want to order dozens of cookies at a time.
Cara Schmidt, the co-founder of Andrew's Legacy, says they're also doing a special pre-order contest.
"For everyone who orders two dozen cookies or more in the pre-order contest which runs from Wednesday to Sunday, they have a chance to win $150 in gift certificates. We have The Keg, Landmark Cinemas, and Tim Horton's."
You can fill out the preorder form online here or at the Thamesford Tim Horton's. They're also partnering up with the Zorra Fire Department for a special delivery service this year. For an extra $10 donation, firefighters will deliver the cookies right to your doorstep.
Also new this year is the AED Scavenger Hunt. If you find an AED in Zorra Township and take a picture with your Smile Cookie, you will be entered for a chance to win a special prize.
Andrew's Legacy is a local charity that raises money to install AEDs in public places. It's in memory of 15-year-old Andrew Stoddart, who passed away of a sudden cardiac arrest while playing soccer in Kintore back in 2015. Andrew's Legacy has helped install 70 AEDs since then.
You can find more information regarding Andrew's Legacy and the Thamesford Smile Cookie Campaign on the Andrew's Legacy Facebook page.
