WOODSTOCK - Two people are facing assault charges after a grocery store employee tried to stop a possible shoplifting.
On Wednesday morning around 9:39 a.m. the Woodstock police were called to the parking lot of Foodland at Dundas and Kent. A store employee told officers they had apprehended a female shoplifter. As the woman tried to get free she assaulted the employee. Officers were told a man also assaulted that same employee.
23 year old Eldon Hopps is facing charges of Assault and Breach of Probation and 27 year old Bethany Stewart is facing charges of assault and theft.
