75 new homes could be built as part of a new subdivision in Tavistock. The subdivision is being proposed by Mansoura Development, and received approval of their official plan and site plan last night. According to those plans, the proposed subdivision will have large yards, which will open up to the Oxford County country side. Warden Don McKay told Heart FM that Tavistock is a very welcoming community, and a wetland in the subdivision will add to a rural village feel. Like any proposed project there are some concerns. Cheese maker Saputo wanted to ensure they still had they opportunity for future expansion, despite the subdivision. Other concerns included increased traffic and storm water concerns. "This development will correct the storm water concerns." McKay said. If there are no appeals to the project, construction could begin as early as this fall or early next spring.
