Woodstock Police are investigating after a 14 year old teenager was attacked inside the school cafeteria at Huron Park on anti bullying day.
WOODSTOCK - Police are investigating a viral case of bullying at Huron Park Secondary School in Woodstock.
Part of the attack was caught on camera and the victim, 14 year old Olivia Gregga has taken her story to the media. It captured attention as the attack happened on February 28th, which is National Anti-Bullying Day where students across the province stand up to bullying. Wearing pink shirts in solidarity is what typically happens at elementary and secondary schools across the country on this day.
Instead of helping, many onlookers filmed the attack in school's cafeteria.
The teens were suspended by the school principal, but were allegedly seen on school property the next day. Huron Park's Principal, Ms. Sharpe declined to comment and directed Heart FM to the Thames Valley District School Board. The School Board did not have a comment on the situation, other than to say the matter is now in the hands of police, who are investigating.
Gregga was later treated in a Toronto hospital for a concussion. The story was first reported on City News last Friday.
