The 30-unit housing complex on Mill Street East includes 22 affordable housing units.
PLATTSVILLE - It was an exciting day in Plattsville, marking the grand opening of Ingrid's Place.
It's a brand new 30-unit housing complex for seniors on Mill Street East. It includes 22 affordable units, so they will be priced below the average market rental price for Oxford County, according to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
The project was developed by DKP Realty Holdings. It came with a $6 million price tag, but it did receive $1.5 million from Oxford County and $750,000 from the federal and provincial governments.
The land was also donated by Blandford-Blenheim Township.
The grand opening ceremony was held yesterday with Warden Marcus Ryan, Blandford-Blenheim Mayor Mark Peterson, and East Zorra-Tavistock Mayor Phil Schaefer in attendance.
To qualify for affordable housing, you must have a moderate income ranging from $37,800 and $54,600 per year. You can read more about Oxford County's housing programs online here.
