The Woodstock Navy Vets remain on top of the Doherty Division standings, after celebrating a win and suffering a loss over the weekend.
PJHL - Southwood Arena was packed for the Battle of Highway 59.
About 1,100 people witnessed the Woodstock Navy Vets beat the Norwich Merchants 4-3 Friday night. Nolan Burnside tied the game with just over two minutes left and Sam Barry secured the win with only 41 seconds remaining.
The Vets then travelled to Wellesley on Saturday, where they suffered a 2-1 loss to the Applejacks. Owen Lukings scored the only goal for Woodstock, and Scott Rodrigue finished the game with 33 saves.
The Merchants were in Hespeler yesterday where they celebrated a 5-2 win over the Shamrocks.
The Tavistock Braves only had one game over the weekend, where they crushed the Paris Titans 6-2.
The Navy Vets remain on top of the Doherty Division standings with 53 points. They're followed by the New Hamburg Firebirds with 52 points, the Braves with 40 points, and the Merchants with 34 points.
The Vets will battle the Braves at Southwood Arena tomorrow night, with the puck drop scheduled for 7:45 p.m. This game was originally scheduled for Friday January 12th, but had to be postponed due to the weather.
Meanwhile in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans beat the Dorchester Dolphins 3-1 on Friday, but they also suffered a 4-3 loss to the Mount Brydges Bulldogs yesterday.
Thamesford currently sits in second place in the division standings with 51 points, behind the Bulldogs with 54 points.
