The Woodstock Navy Vets are now the #1 team in the PJHL.
PJHL - The Woodstock Navy Vets are now the top-ranked team in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
They now have 39 points, the most of all of the teams in the PJHL, after winning their only game over the weekend.
Woodstock celebrated a 3-0 win over the Firebirds in New Hamburg Friday night. Aaron Bullock, Sam Barry, and Tyler Smeda scored for the Vets while Tyler Bouck finished the night with 34 saves.
Meanwhile, the Tavistock Braves tied the Paris Titans 3-3 on Friday and beat the Wellesley Applejacks 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.
The Norwich Merchants suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the Applejacks on Friday, but crushed the Hespeler Shamrocks 7-5 yesterday.
The Braves are sitting in second place in the Doherty Division standings with 26 points, and the Merchants are in fourth place with 17 points.
Looking at the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans celebrated a 5-3 win over the North Middlesex Stars Friday night. Thamesford is sitting in third place in the division standings with 34 points, behind the Dorchester Dolphins with 35 points and the Stars with 38 points.
