Phase 2 of the Oxford Road 59 construction project will focus on the stretch between Dundas Street to the CN Rail track in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Road construction improvements on Oxford Road 59 will soon move into Phase 2 of the project.
Reuben Davis, Supervisor of Engineering Services with Oxford County tells Heart FM what Phase 2 entails.
"This year, Wilson Street road reconstruction extends the full limit, they extend from Adelaide Street to the CN Rail track, just south of Main Street. The work involves water main work, sewer work, new asphalt pavings, sidewalks, [and] new traffic signals."
Davis says Phase 1 extends from Adelaide Street to Dundas Street and that's expected to be completed by the end of June.
Phase 2 which extends from Dundas Street to the CN tracks will soon begin. Davis explains what kind of delays residents can expect.
"There will be a detour during Phase 2, so Wilson Street from Dundas to just south of the CN Railway will be closed to vehicular traffic. There will [also] be a detour on Henry Street around through Wellington Street to Dundas Street."
Davis says Phase 2 is expected to be done in the fall of this year.
