A single-vehicle collision on the 401 in Blandford-Blenheim results in drugs seized and charges laid.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - The Oxford OPP found drugs after a single-vehicle collision.
On Saturday, officers responded to the 401 in Blandford-Blenheim after a vehicle was involved in a crash with wildlife. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and police seized close to 120 grams of suspected cocaine, which has an estimated street value of $10,000. Minor injuries were reported to one of the occupants, while the other occupant did not suffer injuries.
A 33-year-old Guelph man is facing charges of Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, and Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other than to attend court. A 60-year-old from Mississauga has one charge, which is Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine.
The 33-year-old had a bail hearing and was remanded into custody, and the 60-year-old was released from custody after a bail hearing and will have a court date in Woodstock in January.
