A game being played by graduating students has caused a rise in calls to the Oxford OPP.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County OPP has received several calls over the past few weeks.
The calls were for service concerning weapon-related incidents, which turned out to be unfounded. Police say the calls were because of people playing a game called "Senior Assassin", which has players using water guns to eliminate other players.
Staff Sergeant Barnabi of Oxford OPP says celebrating graduation should be a fun time, but also safe.
"Police certainly want students to enjoy their final year of high school safely. Our officers would like to encourage students to find a safer way to celebrate the success of their graduation."
The OPP is reminding participants of the game that the public who do not know the game could mistake a water gun for a real firearm and make the call to the police.
