The Ingersoll Foodland received the Foodland Ontario Gold Award, while the Tillsonburg Sobeys received the Foodland Ontario Silver Award.
OXFORD COUNTY - Two local grocers have both received the Foodland Ontario Awards.
John and Wendy Cameron, the owners of the Tillsonburg Sobeys, received the Silver Award yesterday while Blake Sharpe received the Gold Award for the Ingersoll Foodland.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says they built creative displays that help drive the sale of local produce.
"It’s great to recognize our local retailers for supporting area farmers by displaying the wide variety of fruits and vegetables they produce. It’s displays like these that show how easy it is to access quality, homegrown, local produce."
Sixty-three Ontario Food Retailer Awards will be presented to 60 grocery stores across the province this year.
