Stray sparks could be extremely dangerous under the current dry conditions in Oxford County and the surrounding areas.
Dry, hot weather means most of Midwestern Ontario, including Oxford County, is being rated as a high risk for fire danger.
The risk has even been set as extreme in some parts of Perth including Stratford, Oxford, Waterloo, and Middlesex.
People are being warned once again as the long weekend approaches to use caution especially if your Canada Day plans include fireworks or an outdoor fire. Some places have instituted open fire bans.
Natural Resources Canada warns that a fire could spread very quickly under our current conditions and be very difficult to control.
