From now until August 28th, the County is looking for input on the ways cycling for people of all ages and abilities can be improved, including facility design, missing cycling routes and more.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is looking for the public's input on the Cycling Master Plan.
The County is preparing for the development of the Cycling Master Plan, which will be county-wide.
The plan will build on work that is already taking place to promote commuting by bicycle, connect roadway cycling routes to off-road trail networks, and enhance tourism opportunities.
From now until August 28th, the County is looking for input on the following ways cycling for people of all ages and abilities can be improved:
- What priorities should the plan focus on? Land use planning, tourism, maintenance, signage and wayfinding, etc.?
- How should cycling facilities be designed? Shared, designated or separated? On-road or off-road?
- Are there missing cycling routes? Can existing cycling routes be improved? Mark your suggestions on an interactive map.
A set of recommendations will be forward to better connect significant areas in and outside of the County through trails and cycling routes; establish commuting infrastructure that allows cycling to be used in tandem with public transit, car pools and a rail service for passengers and promote a stronger culture of cycling in Oxford.
The development of a Cycling Master Plan is recommended in the 2019 Transportation Master Plan and is in the Oxford County Official Plan.
