Oxford County Council held a special council meeting today to extend their options for virtual meetings.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council held a special council meeting today to extend their options for virtual meetings.
They needed to pass the by-law after the Emergency orders had been students. After today's vote the County can host any council meeting virtually and they also have the option to have the meetings in person. Warden Larry Martin explains why they wanted to do the council meeting on August 12th virtually.
"There is 7 public meetings for the August 12th meeting and the notices have already gone out. It was determined that with that many people, it would almost be impossible to fit everybody into the council chambers and maintain distancing and everything else that goes along with the requirements to holding the meeting. The meeting today will help us if need be, we can carry on with virtual meetings if we need to and if we don't need to, we won't."
The council meeting next week will take place next Wednesday, August 12th at 9:30 am.
