WATERLOO - The University of Waterloo has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at all of their residences.
A total of 21 cases have been confirmed and are linked to a large cluster of gatherings of students from UW and Laurier. Premier Doug Ford was asked about the outbreak today and pleaded with young people to stop partying.
"I just have to tell you, I have young daughters myself, don't be going out, don't be hanging out, don't be going out in groups, I know it's happening, not with all teenagers of that age but a lot of them are."
Ford says it's just not right, you have to follow the protocols.
"You may feel your invincible but I can tell you, we have a lot of kids or younger people that are in the ICU, so don't be hanging out this weekend, don't be planning big family parties or big gatherings, we just can't have those."
