A troubling case of animal abuse in Woodstock has the OSPCA is looking for information on an injured cat.
The grey domestic long-haired cat that was found in a state of distress with severe infections on September 13th. The cat had gone missing a few days earlier from the area of Mill St. and Park Row, and turned up with the injuries.
A local vet determined someone intentionally made symmetric incisions with a sharp blade on the cat's genitals. They say the cat had sustained a cut on each testicle by a sharp blade through the scrotum.
Because of the severity of the infections, and a slim chance of recovery, the cat's owners had to have it euthanized.
The vet believes the injuries would have been inflicted between September 6th and 9th.
If you have any information on the case, contact the Ontario SPCA at 1-888-668-7722 ext. 313.
