"I can tell you right now, if you're driving in Woodstock or Oxford County, if you're on your cell phone, you're speeding or not paying attention, you are going to get stopped and you are going to get a ticket."
WOODSTOCK/OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford OPP and the Woodstock Police are teaming up for the next couple of days with Operation Zero.
Starting this morning, officers from both detachments will be working together to target speeders, distracted drivers, people not wearing a seat belt and impaired drivers. Constable Ed Sanchuk says they want everyone to make safety a priority on our roads and highways.
"We are going to be targeting drivers who fail to put their safety as a priority. I can tell you right now If you're driving in Woodstock or Oxford County, if you're on your cell phone, you're speeding or not paying attention, you are going to get stopped and you are going to get a ticket."
Sergeant Jeff Ferrell with the Oxford OPP says this is team effort.
"We are out today with the Woodstock Police service in a partnership to promote Operation Zero, we are going to work together to enforce traffic laws, both in Oxford County and the City of Woodstock."
Sanchuk says he is really hoping that people pay attention to this message so they can get to their destination safely.
