Operation Sharing recently handed out 3 awards to local volunteers making a huge difference in our community.
OXFORD COUNTY - Operation Sharing recently handed out several awards to local volunteers during 2020.
John Klein Geltink was presented with prestigious Val Drane Award. Geltink is currently the Vice President of the Operation Sharing Board of Directors and is a long time board members. Board President Marilyn Schmiedl says he is also been a huge promoter of the Food for Friends program.
“John fills in for Food for Friends at the Ingersoll site and the church he belongs to is a positive support for the program.
Scott McKague was presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award. McKague organized Woodstock's first Coldest Night of the Year walk which raised over $80,000 for the Inn, Oxford County's only homeless shelter.
Tilly Van Desar was presented with the Kindness award. Van Desar is a volunteer at Bullwinkle's Eatery which runs every Tuesday and Thursday out of College Ave United Church.
