Taxable items will be collected for Operation Sharing at the Food Basics in Simcoe.
WOODSTOCK - Operation Sharing will be doing a taxable item drive at Food Basics on Saturday March 30th.
They will be collecting taxable items that cannot be purchased with a Food for Friends card from 8 am to 4 pm.
Volunteer Chris Eby says right now their shelves are looking pretty bare at both Operation Sharing locations in Woodstock and Ingersoll.
"Both of our offices are empty again, our shelves of taxable items are empty, so if you can, please come and support Operation Sharing."
Eby says a lot of essential items still carry a tax.
"Items such as toilet paper, hygiene products and so many more and all of the items collected will go to the Operation Sharing offices in Woodstock and Ingersoll and be distributed to people in need."
The Food for Friends Card that is run through Operation Sharing, only allows people to purchase non taxable food items.
