The proposed dump in the Beachville quarry is already having an impact on the local community. A Centreville resident has come forward with the devaluation of her home. Christine Johnstone recently got her home appraised getting devastating results. Karen Paton-Evans, with Oxford People Against the Landfill, says that family's home value has been reduced by one-third. "The family's in a spot where they can't afford to stay in the house and they can not afford to leave. So community members are getting together and we're hosting a fundraiser at Hurley's Independent Grocery store in Ingersoll all day, all evening on Thursday December 13th". Paton-Evans says people need to wake up and get on board to help one another to fight the dump. One other property in Centreville has also been devalued by an appraiser.
