Oxford County will not be mailing out Ontario Works Cheques in December, you will have to pick them up in person.
OXFORD COUNTY - Despite back-to-work legislation being put into effect by the federal government to curb the ongoing postal strikes, Oxford County advises all residents who receive their paychecks through Ontario Works that December's payments, including landlord payments, will not be delivered through Canada Post due to continued uncertainties with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
Instead, those who receive cheques through Ontario Works can pick them up in-person at several offices throughout Oxford. There will be offices open on Friday, November 30th in Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Tillsonburg. Photo identification will be required to collect your payment.
In Woodstock, cheques will be available at the county's Administration Building on 21 Reeve Street. In Ingersoll, they can be found at the Community Employment Services centre at 37 Alma Street. And Tillsonburg will be holding cheques at the Livingston Centre on 90 Tillson Avenue.
