The Oxford Community Energy Co-operative was created 18 short months ago and has already captured the Community Project of the Year Award.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford Community Energy Co-operative has won the Powering Prosperity Award for community project of the year. OCEC was presented with the award at the 5th annual Powering Prosperity awards dinner hosted by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association in cooperation with the Carpenter's Union. The community project of the year award is presented to champions of sustainable energy who are helping the province transition into a sustainable energy economy.
OCEC was created 18 months ago, and shared the Community Project of the Year award with SolarShare a non-for-profit solar energy co-operative. OCEC's President Helmut Schneider accepted the award from OSEA's Director of Finance & Operations at a gala with over 300 leaders in sustainable energy.
