Drivers are being reminded to be careful and keep an eye out for lights reflecting from the eyes of animals. If a deer does dart in front of your vehicle, don't swerve. Swerving could cause drivers to lose control of their vehicle with devastating results.
The best defence is to always be aware when driving, especially late at night and early in the morning, and constantly scan for signs of wildlife. Peak times for collisions are 5 a.m. – 7 a.m., and 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Keep in mind though that an encounter with a deer may occur at any time.
