The Norwich Optimists are getting revved up for the annual Truck and Tractor Pull happening at the Rettie farm on Evergreen Street just north of Norwich.
NORWICH - The Norwich Optimists are getting revved up for the annual Truck and Tractor Pull happening at the Rettie farm on Evergreen Street just north of Norwich.
Expect to hear loud noises and see lot's of smoke coming from the trucks and tractors when things get started on Friday August 14th at 5 p.m. The two day event promises to bring in some of the top competition to Norwich for the annual pulls. Organizer John Rettie tells Heart FM they also have some musical guests lined up for the pulls as well.
"Friday night we have live entertainment a country band 8 second ride and the Saturday night we have a classic rock band Hey McFly that will be playing as well. We also have a 200 foot track side bar, the Optimist Club also has a big food booth there, Saturday afternoon they have a number of events for the kids, like a peddle tractor pull, a bunch of games and a few bouncy castles."
Fridays competition starts with local classes for trucks, highways tractors and a celebrity pull. They will also have the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pulling Association classes happening at 7 p.m on Friday. On Saturday the gates open at 9 a.m. and the party lasts until 1 a.m Sunday morning.
