Norwich Township Seems to be a Hot Spot for Break and Enters.

OPP are on the lookout for suspicious people and vehicles as they investigating upwards of 11 break and enters in Norwich Township.

 

NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Oxford OPP are currently investigating more than 11 break and enters in Norwich Township.

 

Constable Stacey Culbert says the break ins took place both in and out of town.

 

"We did have some right in the Village of Norwich; one was on Washington Street, another on North Court Street West and West Street in Norwich. Outside into the Norwich Township area we had Otterville Road, Gunns Hill and Potters Roads was also one of the locations."

 

Stolen items include laptops, cellphones, tablets, portable speakers, Beats headphones, jewellery, hunting equipment, ice fishing equipment, Canadian cash, bicycles, hand tools, a chop saw, a generator, a motor for a boat and a 2011 Kawasaki ATV.

 

Culbert tells Heart FM there will be an increased police presence in the area, in order to hopefully put a stop to the crimes.

 

"We're going to be out there trying to see if we can recognize any suspicious people because it's been continuing for several weeks. We want people to come forward if they may have any information or if any of that property that they know of is being sold within the community to contact police and give us some updates for that."

 

If you are planning a summer getaway Culbert also recommends having a friend or a family member keep an eye on your home to make sure a break in doesn't occur.

 

Oxford OPP are currently working with their Street Crimes Unit in order to determine if any of the break and enters are related.
