The Township of Norwich will celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary in Otterville this year.
OTTERVILLE - Norwich Township's Canada Day Festivities are set to take place in Otterville this year.
It will be a three day celebration in honour of Canada's 150th anniversary.
The festivities will kick off at 5pm on Friday June 30th with an opening ceremony. There will also be a team tricycle race and a Chicken Wing Ding dinner and dance.
Saturday July 1st will be a very busy day starting off with a morning farmers market, bike rodeo and the annual Canada Day Parade.
Canada Day Chair Laura-Lee Heemskerk says there's a lot of fun in store for the afternoon.
"The afternoon has lots of offer with children's activities, pine car races, free weekend swims and canoe races. There's something new and exciting this year; we have an inflatable pool with some walking bubbles."
Food trucks will be set up along the main intersection. There will also be a chicken barbeque, a baseball game and a beautiful fireworks display in the evening.
Heemskerk adds the celebration will continue into the Sunday.
"We're going to have church service in the Otterville Park with a luncheon. There will be entertainment by local musicians featuring a String and a Prayer gospel band and Fred Hodgson Band. After there will be our infamous rubber ducky race."
High Tea will also be offered at the Otterville Historic Railway Station.
