If the weather holds up, the construction at Norwich Ave and Parkinson should be done next week.
WOODSTOCK - The end is finally near for the construction at Norwich Ave and Parkinson.
Crews are hoping to have the intersection up and running by the end of next week, possibly sooner if the weather co-operates.
Manager of Engineering Services Melissa Ambercrombie explains what they are doing right now.
"Right now they are putting down the Granular A, which is the last kind of granular material that is put down before paving. Tomorrow they are hoping to put down the base coat of asphalt as well as the surface coat of asphalt."
She says hydro re-working at the construction site caused a three week delay in the work.
"Hydro One needed to come on site and unfortunately because of scheduling they were not able to come before Sierra moved onto the site. When they were able to come, unfortunately Sierra had to leave the site so Hydro One could do the work and that took about 3 weeks and that made us behind by about 3 weeks. Once that pushed us further into the fall, obviously there is more rain and things like that and that put us even a few more days behind but we are hoping that once that base coat and surface coat is on tomorrow, we will be getting the last few things in order to open the intersection completely."
