You have until July 27th to nominate a Woodstock property for one of the six awards.
WOODSTOCK - The deadline has been extended for the City Beautiful Awards in Woodstock.
You now have until July 27th to nominate a property for one the categories; residential, new landscape residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional (schools, churches, etc). The nominees will be judged based on their originality, plant material, maintenance, and overall effect.
There's also a new environmentally friendly category this year, complete with it's own criteria. The judges will be looking for the absence of invasive species, the absence of pesticides and fertilizers, and the inclusion of fauna-friendly plant species and maintenance and/or water free plant species.
The finalists from each category will attend a Garden Party in Southside Park, where the top three winners of each category will receive a gift card to a local garden centre.
You can find more information about the City Beautiful Awards, including the nomination form, online here.
