Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 this morning. Meanwhile over in Haldimand-Norfolk, public health officials have confirmed a third migrant worker has died from the virus.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 today.
We currently have 5 active cases of COVID-19 in Oxford County, 1 in St. Thomas and one case in Dutton Dunwich.
Active Cases in Oxford County:
- 1 case in Woodstock
- 1 case in Tillsonburg
- 3 cases in East Zorra-Tavistock
To date, the Health Unit has tested 8,284 people for COVID-19. We have 82 cumulative confirmed cases, 71 cases have been resolved, 4 people have died from the virus and we currently have 7 active cases. We have also have had three institutional outbreaks since the pandemic was declared. Two outbreaks were in Elgin County and they are listed as resolved. The third outbreak was at Secord Trails Long Term Care Home in the Town of Ingersoll. It was declared resolved last week.

Meanwhile the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit reported that a third migrant worker had died of COVID-19 this morning.
Officials say it is an absolute tragedy that someone who comes to Canada to work in the agricultural industry and support his family back home lost his life so far from his loved ones.
