BRANT COUNTY - Brant County have launched a new strategic plan.
In the spring of this year, the County took up a strategic planning process, which began with community engagement.
Mayor David Bailey says they received a lot of feedback from the public.
"During the community engagement, we learned what the most important priorities, hopes and expectations are for County residents. From this feedback, we have constructed a new vision for the County and an action plan to meet various goals and objectives."
Hundreds of residents provided their input.
He says a place where you can work, live and play are among the things the community wants in the County.
"The word charming was used by the community to describe many features of the County such as charming downtowns, charming heritage, charming natural features and so on. Another strong theme was that residents want a place where they can have a family, watch their children grow, and retire in; Residents want a community where people of all ages and abilities can thrive."
The plan consists of six main strategic priorities, including effective communications and healthy, safe and engaged citizens.
Chief Administrative Officer Michael Bradley they want to see people to remain engaged after hearing their feedback.
"We are grateful for how engaged citizens are in the County of Brant. We invite residents to continue to engage and follow along as the Strategic Plan is implemented over the next four years."
The other priorities are sustainable and managed growth, economic resilience, reliable infrastructure and stable and responsive governance.
Bradley says progress updates will be shared with both council and the community regularly.
