The speed limit has been reduced from 80 kilometres to 60 kilometres per hour in front of the Oxford School when the lights are flashing.
OXFORD COUNTY - A new speed limit is in effect on Highway 59 north at the Oxford School.
The speed limit has been reduced from 80 kilometres to 60 kilometres per hour when the lights are flashing. This new speed limit was approved by County Council in July. It is in effect now and motorists are reminded to slow down, if they want to avoid getting a ticket.
The new school zone aims to improve safety for students travelling to and from school by requiring motorists to slow down through this area at the start and end of the school day.
