Oxford County is recommending new safety and road measures.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County has been undertaking new speed management and road safety measures.
These measures will focus on speeding, and how to improve safety measures in Woodstock, Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
Frank Gross, manager of Transportation and Waste Management says that a few measures that they are looking to implement range from gateway signs to landscaping to changing speed zones.
"We're recommending the electronic speed feedback signs or the digital display signs in some of those communities where they are warranted. We are also suggesting to make adjustments to speed zones, changing the limits to where the reduced speed zones start and end".
Most drivers travel at a speed they consider to be comfortable, regardless of posted speed limits.
Full details on the proposed changes can be found online here:
The County's recommendations for controlling speed will focus on proven measures to reduce speed, such as traffic calming measures and community entrance features to improve safety in Oxford County.
Speed management and road safety measures are being proposed for Princeton, Plattsville, Township of Zorra and Woodstock. To view a map of each location and the proposed measures, visit https://t.co/yh8nKwrFRX #roadsafety #oxfordcounty #speakup pic.twitter.com/vdhAAv3AIH
