The project included over $20,000 in repairs to the original monument.
PARIS - The Paris Cenotaph will be getting two new stones; bearing the names of local soldiers who died during World War I and World War II.
This project was a joint effort between the County of Brant Heritage Committee and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29. It also included over $20,000 in repairs to the original monument.
Project Co-Chair Carol Moore says this is a dream come true for some residents.
"This was a long standing dream of three Paris men; Jack Allison, Ted Finn and Ken Sinclair."
Moore adds it has been a while in the making.
"In the spring of 2017, County of Brant officials gave the go ahead to the Paris Legion to add the additional stones."
A dedication ceremony will take place on Sunday October 28th at 2 p.m.
This is just in time for the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
