Jake Muzzin has a new 1-year deal with the LA Kings. The Woodstock-born prospect is being kept on with the Stanley Cup winning payroll of the Kings. Last year, Muzzin suited up in 71-games for the Kings AHL affiliate Manchester Monarchs. He was second on the team amongst defenceman with 7 goals, 24 assists, and 31 points. The 23-year-old has also played in 11 NHL games with the Kings. He tells Heart FM about what the pro game is like, "It's a completely different game. These guys are bigger, faster, stronger. This is not just a game they go out and play, this is their job and they take it very seriously." And Muzzin is taking his game seriously. He's spending the summer working out to get ready for training camp in the fall. He talks about what he needs to improve. "I believe I'm close. I just have to continue working, getting faster and stronger and being mentally prepared more."
