INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP are investigating a couple of mischief's at two local parks in Ingersoll.
OPP were called to Garnett Elliott Park on Innes Street back on August 4th after getting word of some damage to picnic tables. The suspect or suspects had moved the tables to various locations and spray painted letters on one with black spray paint. The mischief caused about $300 in damage.
Then on Thursday police were called to Lorne Moon Park on David Street in Ingersoll. In this case the little tykes slide in the playground was badly damaged with someone putting a large hole in it. Damage to the park in this case was $2,000.
OPP would like the public to know that mischief negatively impacts a community by potentially making the equipment unsafe or inoperable, interrupts the use, and the repair costs can be expensive. When a person damages property, they are committing a criminal code offence called mischief, and will be charged accordingly.
Any person with information regarding these incidents that can assist police should call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
