Canadian Dairy Commission recommending an 8.4 percent increase in farm gate milk prices.
Expect to pay more for milk next year.
The Canadian Dairy Commission says it plans to increase the price of farm gate milk by six cents a litre next year, which is an 8.4 percent jump.
Officials say producers have faced higher production costs due to the pandemic, particularly with feed, energy and fertilizer.
The price hike is expected to be approved by regulators next month and take effect February 1st.
The commission also say butter prices are expected to increase, due to a five percent rise in milk processing costs.
It's not yet known how much of an increase consumers will be facing.
