TILLSONBURG - Another case of measles exposure has been reported at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
Southwestern Public Health is warning people who were in the emergency department from 11:53 p.m. on Thursday April 17th to 4:02 a.m. on Friday April 18th.
Measles is highly contagious and it can live in the air for up to two hours. If you were in the emergency department during the specified time frame and you were born in 1970 or later, you should call the health unit if you're not up to date on your vaccinations. The phone number is 1-800-922-0096.
In the latest report released on April 17th, Public Health Ontario reported 109 new measles cases, bringing the province-wide total to 925 since the outbreak began back in October, 2024. Twenty-nine new cases were reported within the Southwestern Public Health Unit, bringing its total to 357 since October.
