Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area is looking for more volunteers.
September is Big Brothers Big Sisters Month and the local organizations are encouraging people to sign up.
Several kids in Oxford County are waiting to be partnered up with a big. Kids like 8 year old Henry Kantzas who recently was partnered up with a Big Brother in Ingersoll. Henry tells Heart FM some of the things he does with his Big Brother Matt Koopman.
"We've been to Dairy Queen, we have gone bowling, we have been to the park in Ingersoll and really we just have fun."
Koopman says the experience has been rewarding for him as well and he explains how he got involved.
"I think I just realized how fortunate I was, growing up to have a stable home life and some consistency and I think that is unfair for some of these kids that they don't have because it's not their fault, so I just hope to provide a little bit of consistency and stability in their lives."
Koopman encourages everyone with an interest to make a difference to join and notes the time commitment is not as daunting and many people think. Really its a couple of hours every week and that can go a long way for a child. If you interested in joining you can find more information online at http://www.sharethefun.org/en/Home/default.aspx
