You can drop off your empties to 345 King Street West today in the Town of Ingersoll to help out a great cause. The bottle drive is being done for 3-year-old Lincon Bechard and his family.
INGERSOLL - A bottle drive starts today in the Town of Ingersoll for three-year-old Lincon Bechard.
Lincon is a happy little boy but his life changed drastically when he had a stroke and a brain injury at 14 months old. He had to get an emergency decompressive craniotomy. He spent 2 months in the ICU and 1 month in rehabilitation and at first they said he wouldn't make it, and if he did, he wouldn't have much brain capacity.
Lincon's mom, Chloe Ribaric says he has done more than the doctors had thought, he still cannot walk but he can sit unassisted.
"He can't talk anymore, he makes lots of noises, he can't make words though. He can't walk anymore, he is in a wheelchair and his vision is really impaired from it."
His family is trying to raise funds so they can purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle, a new bath seat, wheel chair ramps and a specialized bed.
The bottle drive starts today and will run until June 14th. They will be collecting bottles at Lincon's home at 345 King Street West and you can drop them off in the driveway.
They also have a GoFundMe page if you want to donate directly or you can e-transfer funds directly to the family using this email address linconbechard@gmail.com.
