A 46 year old Woodstock man has been charged after slamming into a marked police car.
WOODSTOCK. Around 11 p.m on the beginning of the long weekend a 2010 Ford Taurus was travelling south on Mill street at a high rate of speed. It was then the Taurus, driven by a Woodstock man entered the intersection at Parkinson road and Mill street on a red light. An oncoming marked OPP cruiser travelling eastbound was hit.
The OPP officer that was hit was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Taurus was not injured. Woodstock police responded to the call. Over 30 thousand dollars worth of damage was estimated to both vehicles.
Woodstock police discovered the driver had been consuming alcohol, police then arrested the 46 year old man. Jeffrey Lajos was charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs.
Lajos will appear in court on September 16th.
