There's still time to sign up for United Way Oxford's latest panel discussion called "Children & Youth Well-Being, Resilience and Mental Health through COVID." It will be livestreamed over Zoom tomorrow.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is hosting another panel discussion called "Children & Youth Well-Being, Resilience and Mental Health through COVID."
The panel will feature members from Early On, Wellkin, TVDSB, LDCSB and the Woodstock Hospital.
Executive Director for United Way Oxford Kelly Gilson says this is a really important discussion right now.
"We have had such a great community response to our Community United Conversation Series. This past year has certainly highlighted many social inequities or challenges in our community, and we have all recognized that Oxford County is not immune. We have seen family, friends, co-workers and neighbours struggling in a variety of ways, and we are trying to provide an increase in awareness and understanding of the issues and links to vital supports. For United Way Oxford, this Conversation Series is a wonderful way to provide a local lens on many of the social issues impacting Oxford citizens, ensure there are connections to supports, and to dispel myths about these community concerns."
The discussion is geared to parents and caregivers who worry about their children's well-being. How are they doing, are they coping as well as can be, how are they developing through the various ages and stages, how they are progressing academically and what can they do as parents to best support their children during this challenging time.
The discussion is happening this Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is free and done through Zoom. You can register to attend the discussion online here. They will be filming it, so you can watch it later as well, if you cannot watch it live.
