Ingersoll business owner Michael Bowman is the latest candidate to file for a spot on town council.
A love for his town has pushed local business owner Michael Bowman to run for Ingersoll Town Council.
Bowman is the fifth person to file papers so far for the position.
He says his 30 years worth of successful business sense running Millcreek Printing could be a big asset to town council. "I've been an active member of the community. I've sat on different committees and boards. I also take an active role with the Canadian Blood Service and have been a vital role in the success of our blood collection in Ingersoll. I think I've got a good background to make a good run at it."
Bowman says the need to move forward with new commercial, residential and industrial growth are just some of the issues facing council over the next four years. "We need to keep a close watch on items such as upper tier government transfer cutbacks in increasing costs...in order to make a responsible approach to municipal tax increases. I think the landfill will always be front and centre until it's settled."
Bowman is now the 5th candidate to file for the five positions up for grabs on town council.
