It's a perfect example of Murphy's Law in the world of theatre.
INGERSOLL - They're putting on a production, about a theatre group putting on a production.
The Play That Goes Wrong will make its debut at the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts (ITOPA) this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
It's about the Cornley Drama Society working on The Murder at Haversham Manor. Peter Johnson is playing the role of Dennis, who plays the Butler in the murder mystery.
"So the Cornley Drama Society is not a very well-to-do drama society, so we have to make do on many fronts. The Murder at Haversham Manor is sort of a who done it and we have to find out who the murderer actually is. In the process, a second murder occurs and it's just absolute fun and mayhem all the way through."
Eight actors will grace the stage during the production. Johnson says there are at least a dozen people involved behind the scenes as well, and wants to give a shout-out to Mike Lindsay and his team for their amazing set.
"We actually have two levels. So there is a second level built which adds to the challenge because the roof in ITOPA simply isn't tall enough to have a full two levels. It's an engineering masterpiece!"
The show will run until Sunday December 8th and tickets are available online through ITOPA's website online here.
Peter Johnson stopped by the Heart FM Studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday November 25th. You can listen to the full interview below:
