Heart FM continues our profile of the local candidates in the upcoming election with a look at the Liberal candidate Elizabeth Quinto.
OXFORD COUNTY - A family lawyer is representing the Liberal party in the upcoming Federal election in Oxford County.
Elizabeth Quinto says the Liberal policy of 10 dollars a day daycare is a game changer.
"We know that this pandemic has had a disproportionate affect on women, we refer to this as a shesession over and over again, one of the best economic policies is getting women back to work and pursuing their careers and one of the biggest barriers to that is the lack of affordable daycare."
She says the trickle down effect will boost our economy, even helping with things like affordable housing.
"What better way then to have more money in families pockets, then having affordable child care, so they can have those thousands of dollars, so they can save towards their first home, so when you invest in families, like the Liberal party has been doing, you invest in the economy."
Quinto holds a B.A. in Political Science Honours from the University of Waterloo, and a J.D. from Western Michigan University.
Other candidates who have announced their intention to run include Matthew Chambers for the NDP, Incumbent Conservative Dave MacKenzie and PPC candidate Wendy Martin.
