A London based Tech Analyst says to stop using the browser immediately
Locals still using Internet Explorer are being encouraged to switch to another browser after Microsoft confirmed a bug in their system.
The security bug is said to allow users to gain access to your computer through malicious websites.
If hackers gain access to your computer they would be able to change settings, download software and delete files.
London based Tech Analyst Carmi Levy stresses if you are using Internet Explorer, you are vulnerable because it affects pretty much their entire market.
"What you want to do is stop using it now. Switch over to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, they are both free downloads. Microsoft will have a patch to fix this problem but it's not going to be available until possibly May 13 so don't be using it between now and then."
Levy because of the research that has been published, experts know this particular bug only impacts Internet Explorer.
"Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are both outside of this, they are secure. That doesn't mean in the future other weaknesses wont be discovered that effect other browsers but right now, Internet Explorer is the weak one, Chrome and Firefox are the secure ones, switch over to those two."
Levy this certainly can't be good for Microsoft or Internet Explorer's brand going forward.
"It is a leading product but it does have a reputation of being relatively insecure and this certainly isn't going to help that. If you are a user and you just want to get work done, you might want to think about changing permanently."
Levy says 90% of all computers around the world use Windows and 90 percent of those use Internet Explorer so this has a great reach across the world.
