Willaim Tigert will take over the reigns March 31
The Town of Ingersoll has named their new Chief Administrative Officer.
William Tigert was selected from a pool of 46 applicants for the position.
Tigert says he has over 20 years of municipal experience with more than half of that time spent as a CAO.
"I've managed every portfolio within municipal government from public works to recreation to social service so I think I have a fairly broad understanding of the role municipalities place in people's lives so I think I can bring that experience with me and my skill set and hopefully add value to the town."
"I have been a CAO in the past and although I haven't been doing that for the last eight years, it's always been something I thought I would get back to so when the opportunity presented in Ingersoll I thought well I'd explore that opportunity and it just came together."
The current Director of Social Services in Stratford will take his new post March 31.
Tigert says he is well aware of the concerns residents have in regards to the proposed landfill in Beachville.
"Obviously that is going to be an important area that I need to focus on. Just general government after that will be the things I do and I'll take my direction from council where they see the priorities are and what they want me to focus my attention on."
Tigert takes over for Darell Parker who retired from the position in January.
