Woodstock Minor Baseball reaches deal to use Cowan Park.
Woodstock Minor Baseball will be holding indoor practices and tryouts at Cowan Park this year.
Minor Ball President Rod Naylor says an arrangement has been worked out with the soccer club to rent their facility for baseball use. "It adapts quite well. It has the turf field, and there's lots of netting there that can protect other players and participants on the walking track."
Players are only allowed to hit whiffle balls in the facility, while coaches have strict limitations on their use of hard balls in drills. Previously, winter and early spring practices were held in elementary school gymnasiums.
The travel workouts will start February 6th and will feature all divisions from rookie ball, all the way up through Woodstock Rangers junior baseball.
