The Oxford County Human Services Department held a special information fair; in honour of National Day of the Child and National Housing Day.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was a decent turn out at the Oxford County Administration Building; when numerous social service agencies got together for a community fair.
Yesterday's open house featured lots of local organizations including Operation Sharing, Ingamo Homes, Indwell and Habitat for Humanity.
Marsh Canada was also there in order to talk about the insurance rates they offer for low income families. Team Leader Janine Mann says they were happy to answer any questions members of the public had.
"We've had some individuals come up and ask types of questions like do we have to take pictures of our personal property? It's not mandatory to do that but we do let them know that it is a good idea in the event that they have a claim."
The event was put on by Oxford County's Human Services Department. Director Paul Beaton hopes it shined a light on the child and housing services available in our community.
"When we bring them all together; we're hopeful that lots of clients come through the door and see what services are available because we're not all located in the same place and people aren't aware. There's lots of information to be had by everybody."
The fair was also held in celebration of National Day of the Child and National Housing Day.
