The construction of Woodstock's upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Depot is on schedule.
City Engineer Harold de Haan tells Heart FM what the crews have accomplished since they started working in mid May.
"They've completed about 90 percent of the retaining wall works that will end up being the walls that the bins are pushed up against. They've completed most of the fill operations to fill the site up to grade and they've done most of the underground utility service work also."
de Haan explains what the crews are working on right now.
"They're still laying the gravel down, bringing it all up to grade. The two smaller buildings that will be on the site have been ordered but they are being constructed off site and they'll be shipped into the site when they are done."
Once the depot on the corner of James Street and Springbank Ave is completed, it will be open regularly so Woodstock residents can get rid of their hazardous waste (ex: batteries and chemicals) and bulk items.
It project is scheduled to wrap up at some point this fall.
