The Highway 59 bridge in the north end of Woodstock will be closed this Wednesday and Friday.
WOODSTOCK - If you take the Highway 59 bridge in the north end of Woodstock every day, this message is for you.
The bridge will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians this Wednesday and Friday, affecting the stretch of Highway 59 between Devonshire Ave and Tecumseh Street.
The County says Phase 2 concrete deck pouring will be taking place and drivers should head west to 11th Line or east to Oxford Road 4 during the closure. Police will be located at the intersection of Devonshire Ave and Vansittart Ave, to make sure emergency crews have access to the northbound lane of the bridge if need be.
Tecumseh Street will be open to local southbound traffic for about six to nine hours while the work is being done. It will reopen to traffic in both directions once the work is completed.
This is all weather dependent and we will provide an update if the dates change.
